Willetha Barnette is a Gifts Coordinator at an independent school in Durham. She is a trained Guardian ad litem and hospice volunteer. She is a 20-year caregiver to her mother; and advocate for cancer patients including her sister and sister-in-law. She is participating in a 10-year breast cancer study conducted by NIEHS, NIH and HHS, and previously served as co-facilitator of the Durham-Chapel Hill Crohn’s and Colitis support group. |

Missy Beckwith is a registered nurse who has worked on the inpatient bone marrow transplant unit at UNC for five years. Prior to attending nursing school, she was a caregiver to her husband and mother who received care at UNC. She is also a thyroid cancer survivor. |

Glenda Blackwood is a patient coordinator in the N.C. Cancer Hospital’s Head & Neck Cancer Program. A native Chapel Hillian, she has been with UNC Hospitals for almost five years. Glenda serves as secretary for the NC Cancer Hospital Patient & Family Advisory Board and on the Advisory Board candidate interview committee. |

Dr. Ian Buchanan, UNC Health Care Vice President for Oncology, is responsible for hospital cancer services at UNC. He first came to UNC in 1999 for medical school and has found it hard to leave UNC ever since. He lives in Chapel Hill. |

Chaplain Patricia Cadle is the oncology chaplain (11 years) at the NC Cancer Hospital. She is an ordained United Church of Christ minister (21 years). She received her Master’s Degree from Duke Divinity School in 1988. |

Dr. Susan Eder is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. She lives in Raleigh, NC and has a small private practice in Raleigh and works with parents and children at a school for early childhood.in Cary, NC. She has been living with metastatic melanoma for four years and has received excellent treatment for Dr. Fran Collichio at UNC. |
| Nancy Graham, from Advance, NC, is a retired schoolteacher from the Prince William County school system. She has served on committees to review a brochure for the Comprehensive Cancer Support Program and a proposal for installing televisions with patient information in various hospital areas. She especially enjoyed serving Thanksgiving dinner to caregivers. She is a breast cancer survivor. | |

| Graham Henry, 18, a high school senior, was diagnosed in 2010 with a rare form of bone cancer called Ewing Sarcoma and was treated at the N.C. Children’s Hospital by Dr. Stuart Gold. In June 2011 he was released from treatment with scans showing no signs of cancer. He has served on the Hillsborough Hospital Architecture committee and participated in a teaching presentation. | |

He has served on the Innovations Unit Committee and has participated on a panel for the Gillings School of Global Public Health. Currently he serves on the Executive Committee of the NC Cancer Hospital Patient and Family Advisory Board as president for 2012 – 2014. |

She is vice chair of the Advisory Board and has served on the Ambulatory Patient Experience and the Partnering with Patients and Families Committees and is working with the new Inpatient Hospice Committee. Polly is a breast cancer survivor. |

Catherine Huffman is a strategic account manager for a medical imaging company. She is currently serving on the Patient Assistance Committee, acting as Patient Advocate for the GI Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) Grant, and whenever possible does speaking engagements to support groups, oncology nurses, etc. She is a colorectal cancer survivor. |

He is currently involved with rounding in the clinic area of the Cancer Hospital, In-patient Experience Team, Education Committee for UNC Hospitals, and the Planning Committee for the new Hillsborough Hospital. | Larry Hutchison is a retired shipping company executive who worked as an Operations Manager in the greater DC area. He became the caregiver of his best friend who underwent a BMT at the NC Cancer Hospital. Larry currently serves on the Caregiving Committee as an advisor and mentor to caregivers along with serving on the Admissions Committee. | |

Kathy Jones, a Raleigh resident, is CFO of a civil engineering company in Apex, NC. In 2011 while completing her MBA, Kathy served as a Performance Improvement Intern in the NC Cancer Hospital working on many projects to improve service to patients. Kathy was caregiver for her mother during her battle with metastatic breast cancer and is a breast cancer survivor herself. She looks forward to continuing her work with the Cancer Hospital. |

Ashley Rauch is a native of Raleigh and has lived there her whole life. In 2010 she was diagnosed with oral cancer and went through surgery and treatments at the N.C. Cancer Hospital. As of July 2012 she has been cancer free for two years. She married her husband Jamie in 2011, and they are now expecting their first child. Ashley actively participates in the Garner Relay For Life each year, and she has worked in banking for over five years. |

She has served with the Palliative Care/Hospice Committee, been a speaker at speaking engagements, currently serves on the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Advisory Council and was a caregiver for her son. | |
