Primary care providers are seeing an increasing number of cancer survivors in their practices. They are more likely than oncologists to manage chronic pain, address psychosocial concerns and refer appropriately to hospice. However, general medical training in cancer primarily focuses on the acute phase in the inpatient setting. This year’s conference will present evidence-based approaches primary care providers can incorporate into their practice to ensure that patients living with advanced cancer receive the high quality care they deserve.
