With the recent drug approvals, new treatment options have emerged for Melanoma that provide promise for improved outcomes. This lecture will share these breakthrough advances and discuss next steps and other advances that may be on the horizon. Medical and Surgical Oncology lectures offer CNE, ASRT, and CME continuing education credit (upon approval) for eligible participants. We invite anyone interested to view our lectures. Although some stress is considered beneficial, excessive stress that lasts a long time should be avoided. Learn about the role of inflammation as it relates to cancer and how to incorporate the practice of mindfulness skills. Community Lunch and Learn lectures are geared toward cancer patients, survivors, family, friends, and care givers/supports but anyone interested in learning more about cancer is welcome to join us. Every lecture has a question and answer section at the end so feel free to ask the presenter for clarification or more information. Lectures are viewable online via GoToWebinar or by participating in the lecture at one of our designated viewing sites. The Old Well, UNC Campus

The Dozen Doughnut Dash is a four-mile race starting on Dec. 2nd at UNC’s Old Well. The route then takes runners through campus as well as other parts of Chapel Hill. Participants must run 2.5 miles, eat a dozen doughnuts and then complete another 1.5 miles. All proceeds from this event go to UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center to help aid in the fight against cancer.
