Please join the UNC Cancer Network for an online telehealth lecture with Kim Keller, RN, MSN, OCN. The alternate methods of treatment offered through clinical trials have the potential to offer improved outcomes for some cancer patients. This lecture will focus on the role nursing plays in providing education and follow up to patients interested in or involved in clinical trials. RN and Allied Health lectures offer CNE and ASRT continuing education credit (upon approval) for eligible participants. We invite anyone interested to view our lectures. The Melanoma Research Foundation estimates more than 160,000 Americans will be diagnosed with melanoma in 2017. Learn about early detection methods from non-traditional healthcare providers and the therapeutic progress in metastatic melanoma. Community Lunch and Learn lectures are geared toward cancer patients, survivors, family, friends, and care givers/supports but anyone interested in learning more about cancer is welcome to join us. Every lecture has a question and answer section at the end so feel free to ask the presenter for clarification or more information. For this lecture, we also encourage attendance of hairstylists, barbers, and cosmetologists to learn about the role these professional can play in screening for melanoma and other skin disorders. This lecture will provide a certificate of participation from the NC Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners for eligible participants.
