Chapel Hill, NC
Every year, the members of Zeta Tau Alpha at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill hold the Franklin 5K to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness. The race benefits the Arc of the Triangle, the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center, Ashton's Angels, and the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation. The course takes runners around the Chapel Hill campus and surrounding neighborhoods. Prizes are awarded to the top runners in each age group at the after-race party, which is accompanied with free food and local talent.
With over 6,400 runners in 2015, the Tar Heel 10 Miler is designed to celebrate YOU and showcase downtown Chapel Hill, the UNC campus and the surrounding historic neighborhoods. A true Carolina showcase with thousands of UNC alumni crossing the finish line each year. The Tar Heel 10 Miler benefits the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA’s We Build People Campaign.
