The Science of Breast Cancer Disparities: A Symposium in Honor of the Carolina Breast Cancer Study and Robert Millikan
This special symposium will honor the scientific contributions of Dr. Robert Millikan to understanding the causes of breast cancer, especially among African-American women. The symposium will provide an overview of the Carolina Breast Cancer Study the landmark study that Dr. Millikan led as well as a current perspective on the epidemiology and biology of breast cancer. The role of science and breast cancer advocacy, an area of commitment to Dr. Millikan, will also be discussed. Presentations will be provided by Dr. Millikan’s UNC colleagues and other national leaders in breast cancer research.
