This presentation of Cancer Transitions will be conducted in Spanish, and will run from April 14 until May 19. Each weekly session lasts for 2 - 2 1/2 hours and includes information on nutrition, exercise, coping with stress, and medical care, plus delicious healthy snacks. This program is open to cancer patients who have completed treatment and their loved ones.

Researchers from the comprehensive cancer centers at UNC, Duke, and Wake Forest will come together for a full-day meeting on physical activity and cancer survivorship. Participants will hear the state of the science, learn about research expertise at each institution, and explore how collaborations could be established for future grant submissions or inter-institutional projects.

UNC Health Care will offer free screenings during Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week, on Wednesday, April 13, from 1 - 4 p.m. in the Ear, Nose, & Throat Clinic on the ground floor of the N.C. Neurosciences Hospital. Every adult is a candidate for testing. Tobacco and alcohol users traditionally have been considered the populations at greatest risk for these cancers.

Join the UNC Cancer Network for an online telehealth lecture with Christine Rini, PhD. Participants will learn to assess the different types and sources of social support, identify reasons why getting and giving social support is a complicated activity, and employ strategies for helping to ensure that patients get effective support that provides them with the emotional and practical coping assistance they need.

The Center for Regulatory Research on Tobacco Communication's Seminar Series will present "Are e-cigarettes re-normalizing tobacco in children?" on April 11. This talk will present the results of three experimental studies examining the impact of exposing children to e-cigarette adverts on their perceptions of cigarette smoking including their beliefs about the appeal and harms of cigarette smoking.

Volunteer with UNC Women's Basketball Head Coach Sylvia Hatchell and friends as they prepare the Lineberger Cancer Center Blueberry Patch for the upcoming harvest season! Every year, Coach Hatchell's blueberry patch in Black Mountain is visited from supporters near and far, who pick berries and in return leave donations supporting UNC Lineberger. Lunch will be served.
