New Appointment
To make a new appointment with the the Gastrointestinal Oncology Program call our program assistants at 919-966-9700 or 919-843-8843.
We will request basic demographic information as well as information relating to the patient's disease, diagnostic workup and, if applicable, previous treatment. The program assistant will work with our nurse coordinator to make an appointment with the appropriate physician. To more efficiently serve the referring physicians and patients we will assemble all medical information including operative reports, pathology slides, and most recent diagnostic tests and scans before the patient’s first visit. Preliminary evaluation of this information will help us better choose the most appropriate initial physician for the patient. The program assistant will contact patients with their appointment time. If patients need additional tests prior to their initial visit, the nurse coordinator will discuss this with them.

- physician's name, address and phone number
- patient identification card if you have been seen before at UNC
- insurance card and any other related forms required by your insurance company
- list of allergies and medications you are taking with the dosages
