Spotlight on Clinical Trials Recruitment

Ruben (pictured bottom left with a patient) works as a Spanish interpreter and also assists with recruitment and outreach. Charlotte (pictured top left with a patient) works as a recruitment specialist and also serves as a navigator -- a liaison for minority patients currently enrolled in clinical trials.

In the past year, they have become a presence in the general community by providing information about and

promoting UNC clinical trials at conferences and support groups, among other places.

Charlotte and Ruben are also working with doctors – prospective ones, along with those in training and those currently practicing – to get the word out to them about minority recruitment for clinical trials.

Community groups and organizations are invited to contact Charlotte and Ruben about the possibility of having them speak about UNC Lineberger’s clinical trials at a meeting or event.
