Coordinating a patient's care from diagnosis through their treatment plan that may include surgery, medical oncology, dentistry, and radiation oncology, as well as follow up, is not an easy job, but Hazel does it with finesse and care.
When looking for a position that was going to allow Hazel better hours for her family and their busy schedule, she came to UNC Health Care. "I have worked for other institutions and from the day that I came to interview from the person that directed me to the location to where I would interview through completion of the interview, I felt the compassion that this organization has," she said. "I knew that I would be proud to be apart of such an organization that gives care with such compassion. We all have the same goal which is to give excellent care with our patients being our main focus."
This excellent care still inspires Hazel. "I feel as though I work with the best surgeons in this country. Not only are they experts, they are compassionate about their work," she said.
When not working, Hazel loves spending time with her family and going on family vacations. "When people ask me what I do for a living, I like to tell them that I am a full time domestic engineer and I work as a nurse part time. The reason for this is because I have a large family whom I love dearly and they keep me very busy."
