Summer Cheek, RN, BSN, OCN
As Nurse Manager of the Inpatient Hematology/Oncology Unit at the N.C. Cancer Hospital, Summer manages all of the inpatient staff and oversees the day to day operations of the unit.
Summer has been working with oncology patients for 10 years and says that she is constantly inspired and motivated by her patients.
"I love being able to provide excellent patient care and feeling that I make a difference in people's lives," she says. "I also enjoy my fellow co-workers. We have an awesome team on 4 Oncology and I feel blessed to be part of such a wonderful place to work."
She has been married to her high school sweetheart Jason for 10 years, and they have two daughters - Taylor and Raygan. Summer's family is very close, and when she is not at work, she can often be found at a family gathering. She says that shopping on Saturdays with her mom is a must! She also loves her church and spending time with her family there.
