Growing up, she was aware of her parents' constant giving back to the community, and their influence has really stayed with her - she has always wanted to be in a field where she is able to make a positive difference in people’s lives. She received her bachelor’s degree in public health from UNC-Chapel Hill (following in the footsteps of her grandfather, dad, and three sisters) and has worked in a nonprofit setting for over 20 years raising funds for research and programs.
"My mom was treated at UNC Lineberger during her recent struggle with cancer so I was able to see first-hand how remarkable the care here is and how incredible the faculty and staff are," says Elizabeth. "Working here gives me an opportunity to continue to make a positive impact while honoring my mom's legacy."
When her schedule allows, she enjoys running and attending Carolina sporting events. Her husband also bought her a set of golf clubs so that she could learn the game that he loves (and maybe even play with him)! "I have had two lessons and the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) has not called me yet," she says with a laugh.
