William comes to UNC Lineberger from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), where he oversaw the university’s research publications and media relations. Before working with the university, he worked for the North Carolina Aquariums and several daily newspapers in Southeastern North Carolina as a government and environment reporter. He also holds a master's degree in history from UNCW.
At UNC, William works with faculty members and others at UNC Lineberger to publicize the work done here to the state and national media. "UNC Lineberger does important work that has the potential to impact lives across the world," says William.
"This is one of the most vibrant research communities in the world, dedicated to improving the lives of millions of families impacted by cancer," he continues. "It is exciting to be in a position where I can see and learn about the broad array of research taking place here."
Outside of work, William loves to read and travel. His favorite places include New York, London, Paris, and, after living five years in Asheville, the Appalachian Mountains. He also loves to kayak and has spent many hours exploring the rivers and marshes of coastal North Carolina.
"The world is an interesting place, and I embrace any opportunity to see more of it," he explains.
