Area of Interest

In collaboration with our basic science colleagues, I have an interest in devising novel treatments for patients with GI malignancies based on the biology of their tumors. Specifically, I aim to further delineate the molecular pathways that lead to cancer formation, which will lead to the development of more effective targeted therapies. By incorporating correlative translational science into our standard clinical trials, we can take advantage of known mutations within a patient's tumor to both improve treatment outcomes and to determine predictive biomarkers of response to prevent undue toxicity.
