CHAPEL HILL, NC - Ten-year-old Jailen Cooper is a huge fan of the Oakland Raiders, and the Raiders, working with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, recently recruited Jailen to be a team member for a day. He was assigned a locker complete with a jersey and helmet (signed by the team members) and led warmups, plays and a post-practice press conference. He also met – and tackled – his favorite player on the team, Darren McFadden.
Jailen underwent surgery and treatment for a brain tumor on his pituitary gland. He is a patient of Julie Blatt, MD, professor in the pediatric hematology/oncology division.
