Dr. Auman is a research assistant professor at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and a member of the UNC Institute for Pharmacogenomics and Individualized Therapy.
The Tissue Procurement Facility (TPF) is one of UNC Lineberger’s core research facilities. It plays an important role in obtaining, processing, providing quality assurance for and banking biospecimens from patients who have consented to have these materials collected for research purposes. TPF enables much of the cancer center's research into the genetic and genomic causes of cancer and provides a valuable resource for investigators searching for new treatments and testing them in clinical trials. As facility director, Dr. Auman will be responsible for personnel management, process improvement, compliance and reporting and will work with investigators to enhance the facility’s database and reporting capabilities.
Dr. Auman completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Center for Toxicogenomics at the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences. At UNC, his research has focused on using gene expression profiling to understand drug response in colorectal cancers. He also manages the RNA sequencing production for UNC’s Cancer Genome Atlas project, and has been responsible for analyzing the gene expression data for the project’s colorectal cancer group.
Dr. Auman received his PhD in pharmacology from Duke University.
