Kenan Institute appoints Joseph DeSimone as new director
Dr. Joseph M. DeSimone has been appointed director of Kenan Institute.
DeSimone is the Chancellor’s Eminent Professor of Chemistry at UNC and William R. Kenan Jr. Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at NC State University and of Chemistry at UNC. He is also a member of UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
He replaces John D. Kasarda, who stepped down in June after serving as the director of the Kenan Institute for 22 years.
