Ting awarded 2013 University Award for the Advancement of Women
Presented by the Carolina Women's Center on behalf of the Offices of the Chancellor and the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, the award recognizes contributions to the advancement of women at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Each year, three individuals—one faculty member, one staff member, and one undergraduate/graduate student/postdoctoral scholar—are chosen to receive the award. The faculty and staff recipients each receive $5,000 and the undergraduate/graduate student/ postdoctoral scholar recipient receives $2,500. In addition to Dr. Ting, the staff award was awarded to Kelli Raker of Student Wellness and the student award went to Camille McGirt, a health policy and health management major.
The reception will be on Thursday, March 21, at 1 p.m. in the Anne Queen Faculty Commons in the Campus Y. Chancellor Holden Thorp will present each recipient with a framed certificate and monetary award
