Breakfast Seminar: Aaron Mitchell, Hematology/Oncology, UNC

Cancer treatment decisions should ideally be based on medical evidence and patient preference, but our current health care infrastructure includes other factors which may inappropriately influence physicians. Dr. Mitchell will present evidence on the association between financial relationships with the pharmaceutical industry and which drugs oncologists tend to prescribe. Additionally, the reimbursement incentives between different chemotherapy drugs is a promising area of future research.
