Breakfast Seminar: Deb Mayer, Director of Cancer Survivorship, School of Nursing, UNC

March 20, 2018 @ 7:45 am - 9:00 am

Due to advances in cancer care, there is a growing group of cancer survivors. This projected growth creates the need to evaluate how we deliver care, when, where, and to whom. There is a growing need to explore the impact of these changes on survivors, caregivers and the health care system and will touch all aspects of the cancer research enterprise.

Deborah K. Mayer is an advanced practice oncology nurse who has consulted with organizations on issues to improve cancer care and has over 40 years of cancer nursing practice, education, research, and management experience. Dr. Mayer is a Professor in the Adult and Geriatric Health Division in the School of Nursing and the UNC Lineberger Director of Cancer Survivorship. Her program of research focuses on the issues facing cancer survivors and improving cancer care. She has a clinical practice working with breast cancer survivors.

The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Breakfast Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch, Stephanie Wheeler, and Matthew Nielsen. Please arrive at 7:45am to join us for a hot breakfast buffet prior to the start of our 8:00am meeting. Parking is available at the Rams Head parking deck next door; we will give you vouchers to park for free.
