Comprehensive Cancer Support
Cancer is a journey and we’re here to help you every step of the way.
Many cancer patients describe diagnosis, treatment and survivorship as a journey
- sometimes one that comes with confusing maps and convoluted directions or
without signposts or guidebooks.
That's why the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the N.C. Cancer
Hospital created the Comprehensive Cancer Support Program (CCSP).
The CCSP is a multidisciplinary program dedicated to making cancer diagnosis,
treatment, recovery and survivorship as effective and comfortable as possible
for patients, family members and caretakers. What this means is that a team of
experts in areas like patient education and counseling, symptom management, integrative
medicine, support groups and survivorship come together to help you - taking
into account your personal diagnosis, individual needs and unique situation.
We bring together these experts to provide compassionate and meaningful support
for you and your loved ones during the cancer journey.
Everyone’s journey is a little different
You may not need all of the programs and services we offer, but the Comprehensive
Cancer Support Program serves as an umbrella organization for a wide variety
of UNC cancer support programs and services. We are here to help you find what
you need and make things better during the course of your diagnosis, treatment
and recovery.
