N.E.D. (No Evidence of Disease)
A unique band of six gynecologic oncology surgeons from across the country, N.E.D. is taking healing and the arts to a new level. Created as a cover band to entertain their peers at a medical conference, they saw the potential to reach women in a powerful way - through music. The group started out as a novelty meant to entertain crowds but has since turned into a powerful awareness movement to give a voice to women effected by gynecologic cancers.
A 2010 general round winner of the Mountain Stage NewSong contest, and one of the top 25 Indie Acoustic Artists selected by IMR magazine for 2012, Roger's melody-driven writing style pulls from both 70's popcraft for its harmonic sensibilities and 90's Britpop for its broad soundscapes.
Birds and Arrows
Birds and Arrows, a trio based in Chapel Hill, consists of Andrea Connolly (vocals and guitar), Pete Connolly (vocals and drums) and Josh Starmer (cello). Together, they create an elegant, warm sound. Their compelling show appeals to a wide range of audiences; they are the cherished rock band for folk lovers and the favorite folk group for rock fans.
