The Patient and Family Advisory Council at the N.C. Cancer Hospital and UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center plays a vital role in shaping patient-facing policies and approaches to care. At UNC, we believe that collaboration with patients is essential to providing the best care. The Advisory Council was created to ensure the success of that partnership - involving patients and families in care decisions, quality improvement projects and giving the patient a direct-line to administration.

The Patient and Family Advisory Council participates and advises on a wide variety of topics, such as developing new programs, staff and student education, patient-related publications, written grants, and involvement within other committees at UNC Health Care. We represent our community with a broad range of disease types, ethnic backgrounds, economical and geographical diversity and age range.
