Clinical profile

Area of interest

Dr Collichio is the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) representative to the Association of Subspecialty Professors (ASP) of the Alliance of Academic Medicine (AAIM).  She is Past Chair of the ASCO Oncology Training Program Committee and Past Chair on the In-training examination which is used to help train fellows in the United States, Canada, Ireland and other nations.  Her academic mission is to advance training of physicians in the United States, and particularly Oncology trainees.  Clinically, she has had in depth experiences in many cancers.  She uses these experiences to help with the trainees in oncology and in her role as the In-patient Service Leader.  In the late 1990s she focused on breast cancer. In the early 2000s she was involved in the neuro-oncology group.  She still sees patients with these diagnoses in her clinic.  Her main clinical focus is on patients with advanced melanoma.  She has several publications in this area and has been the principal investigator at UNC for over 20 trials in Melanoma.  She continues to do clinical research in this area.
