Area of Interest

I am a bone marrow transplant physician with a research interest in acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD), an autoimmune like complication that can develop after BMT. Our lab focuses on chemokine receptor biology and lymphocyte trafficking after transplant, with the overriding goal of developing never, more targeted aGVHD therapies. We are particularly interested in CC-Chemokine Receptor 7 (CCR7), a receptor critical for aGVHD pathogenesis. Our research group was the first to publish the structure of a validated CCR7 small molecule antagonist (cosalane), and the first to demonstrate its efficacy as a novel means to prevent aGVHD relevant murine BMT models.
