Area of Interest

I conduct pharmacoepidemiologic and comparative effectiveness research with applications to older adult populations and those diagnosed with cancer. The overall objective of my work is to generate robust evidence on the utilization and effects of medical interventions that will inform decisions made by patients, their caregivers, healthcare providers, and policymakers.

Together with a team of trainees and collaborators, my research program draws upon clinical trials, large healthcare databases, and advanced epidemiologic methods to evaluate:

  1. The quality of care received
  2. The effectiveness and safety of treatment options
  3. The role of polypharmacy, multimorbidity, and frailty in treatment selection, adherence, and outcomes
