Faculty Member Profiles – Frequently Asked Questions

I’m not sure to which UNC Lineberger program or programs I belong. How can I find this information out?

First check the member profile page  to see if your program is listed on your profile. If not, email Susan Lucas at slucas@med.unc.edu to determine your member status.

I think I should have a UNC Lineberger member profile, but I don’t have one. Who should I contact to determine my member status?

You will not have a profile if you are an Associate, Adjunct or Emeritus member. If you are a Full member and do not have a profile please contact Susan Lucas at slucas@med.unc.edu to determine your member status.

I would like my administrative assistant to make updates to my member profile. How can he/she be given editing access?

We will need the ONYEN user name for the person you would like to give access to edit your profile. Send the link to your member profile page and the name and ONYEN user name of the person you wish to add as an editor to Susan Lucas at slucas@med.unc.edu. Explain that you wish to have editing access given to another person in addition to yourself.

I do not have editing access to my member profile. How can I get editing access?

When I enter my narrative text on the editing page and click the submit button, I receive an error message saying that there is a maximum limit of 3200 bytes. How many characters is that? How many words is that?

It is equivalent to approximately 3445 characters (including spaces) or approximately 435 words.

How do I determine if I have a Reach NC profile page?

Go to http://reachnc.org/. In the top right hand corner, click the link titled Profiles. In the search box in the top right hand corner, select to search by last name and then enter your last name and click enter. If you have a profile, it should show up in the search results. Click on it and copy and post its URL into your UNC Lineberger profile editing screen.

How do I find my PubMed page?

Go to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed. Under the search bar at the top of the page, click Advanced. In the Builder section, in the first drop down menu, select the option Author-Full. Then type in your full name including middle initial into the box to the right of the drop down menu. Click Search. You should receive a page of publications that are yours. If not all publications are yours, you may have to edit the search options to ensure accuracy. Once your specific list is created, copy the URL and plug it into the appropriate space on your UNC Lineberger profile editing screen.
