Area of Interest

We study mechanisms of DNA repair, especially double-strand break and gap repair, and genetic recombination. Our studies include both induced and spontaneous damage, and recombination in proliferating cells as well as in meiosis. Our research has applications to understanding genome instability in normal and tumor cells, as well as in designing CRISPR/Cas genome engineering strategies.
