UNC Lineberger Lights the Night
The 37 UNC team members, including two survivors, who participated in the November 3 Light the Night event, raised $4,200 for the North Carolina Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The event was held at Diamond View Park adjacent to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Team captain Crista Creedle said, “ This event is always such a meaningful one to those involved. We are able to walk in the fight alongside some of our patients, remember those who have lost their battle and raise money to help find a cure for blood cancers. It is truly moving when you see the white survivor balloons light up the sky on the walk. I am so proud of our team for our growing team size each year as well as the fundraising we have been able to accomplish.”
UNC Health Care/ Rex was the presenting sponsor for walks in Durham and Raleigh.
