The Blue Ribbon Gala is a black-tie benefit to highlight Lineberger’s advancements and achievements in cancer research, diagnosis, and treatment and to honor individuals/companies that have made significant contributions to the fight against cancer, including Mr. Robert Ingram, Past Chairman and Co-Founder of CEO Roundtable on Cancer. The theme of this one-of-a-kind event is Explore, Celebrate, Imagine. From 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., guests will attend an interactive reception with hands-on opportunities to explore the mysteries of cancer treatment and diagnosis. Starting at 7:00 p.m., guests will enjoy a dinner and program.

]]> No publisher Megan Fazekas-King (fazekask) 2013-05-23T21:15:00Z Event Pedal for Pēds http://unclineberger.org/signature-events/calendar/pedal-for-peds The UNC Division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology is sponsoring their 4th Annual Pedal for Pēds Bike Ride on Saturday, September 21st, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. starting at McDougle Middle School. At this year’s Pedal for Pēds event, there will be 50 and 28 mile routes through beautiful Carrboro, Orange and Alamance Counties and participants are encouraged to ride all or any part! Everyone should come out to enjoy music and kid-friendly entertainment at the school

All proceeds from the ride will be used to fund pediatric cancer research, fellowship education, and other great programs like cancer survivor college scholarships, food and gas cards for our families in keeping our mission to care for and cure all children with cancer and blood disorders in the state of North Carolina. Help us support these incredible families!

Voted the Triangle’s number one 5K event in 2012, this is a family friendly walk-run event that you won’t want to miss!

Proceeds will benefit patient and family supportive care services at the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Clinic.

Registration is $26 and includes two games, shoes, pizza, and drinks. Form your team of four today and sign up for Round 1 from 1:00pm-3:30pm or Round 2 from 3:30pm-6pm.

]]> No publisher Megan Fazekas-King (fazekask) 2013-05-01T21:05:00Z Event Lucky 13 http://unclineberger.org/signature-events/calendar/lucky-13 Follow a pack of Boy Scouts from Troop 845 as they spend 10 weeks biking from Maryland to Oregon to raise money for UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. For a fourth time, a group of philanthropic young men are pushing their physical limits to raise funds for cancer research at UNC Lineberger. In the years that they have been raising money to support UNC Lineberger, Troop 845 has raised more than $50,000.  This year, they have set a goal of $30,000 to help in the fight against cancer.
