Anna McCullough, MSW, MSPH

As the program manager for the N.C. Cancer Hospital's Nicotine Dependence Program, Anna works with patients who are ready to quit using tobacco. She helps them develop a quit plan, which includes counseling and, when appropriate, medication. She also provides ongoing support in becoming tobacco-free.

Anna McCullough

Anna grew up in the country and tries to spend as much time as possible outside - she especially loves going for a long run or walking her dog in the Carolina North forest in Chapel Hill. If she must be inside she's happiest when making a mess in the kitchen, curling up with her cat and a good novel or watching Carolina basketball.  She also likes to spend time volunteering at the North Carolina Therapeutic Riding Center. Anna and her husband honeymooned in the national park on St. John and they are hoping to make it to every national park across the country - next on their list is Glacier National Park!

"Supporting patients in making a difficult but very positive change in their lives, often when they are going through incredibly challenging treatments, is such a privilege, and celebrating their successes is incredibly rewarding," says Anna. "The people who work here give so much of themselves to make a difference in the lives of so many North Carolinians. As a native of North Carolina and a UNC graduate, I feel proud and grateful to be a part of the N.C. Cancer Hospital team!"
