Meet Valerie Collins, PT, CLT-LANA

As a physical therapist and a lymphedema therapist, Valerie helps patients reduce the physical side effects of cancer treatments such as loss of range of motion, strength, and particularly swelling (lymphedema) so that they can achieve whatever goals they set for themselves.

Valerie loves to hike, garden, cook, and paint. She also gets a thrill out of riding roller coasters with her husband Ed (who is an associate professor of microbiology and immunology at UNC) and their college age children, Chris and Alyssa.  "We scream like kindergarteners," she says.

Why does she work here? "I work at UNC because I love patient care and working with wonderful colleagues who truly care about our patients."
