Area of Interest

Dr. Rivera's research interests focus on the early detection of lung cancer with the use of the Life Imaging Fluorescence Endoscope (LIFE). In her study, patients at high risk for lung cancer will undergo bronchoscopy with conventional white light and LIFE in order to assess the relative sensitivity and specificity of these combined procedures to detect dysplasia and carcinoma in situ. Her study will follow these paitents over years in order to estimate the proportion of patients that show evidence of progression.
