More than 500 Men and Women Tickled Pink for UNC Lineberger
Themed "Hats off to Women...for all the Hats They Wear" Tickled Pink
2007 - three very festive, totally crazy all pink events to benefit
women’s cancer research at UNC Lineberger - was a great success. This
year's Tickled Pink raised over $75,000.
The three event chairs ( L-R) were caught in
a rare moment of stillness.
UNC Lineberger Board of Visitors member Missy Julian-Fox and brother Alex and their families gathered at the event.
Festive cookies were baked for the event by Melanie Colvin and Rachel Weber of Carolina cookies for Kids. These young women bake cookies and sell them with the proceeds coming to UNC Lineberger for pediatric oncology.
Tickled Pink at Squids
150 people enjoyed a pink repast on Tuesday, October 2. Event chair Julie Amos-Sermons welcomed everyone. Dr. Lisa Carey, medical director of the UNC Breast Center, introduced Drs. Claudio Battaglini and Diane Groff, co-directors of the Get REAL & HEEL program, a recreational and exercise therapy program for breast cancer patients. They gave a description of the program and thanked the crowd since some of the proceeds from the Tickled Pink events help to fund the program.
Silent auction items included a stunning handmade quilt by Joan DeBruin and a beautiful oil painting by artist Karen Stone.
Committee members and volunteers pause before beginning the meal service.

Tickled Pink at Galloway Ridge
180 women feasted on a different pink-themed menu. Event chair Jean Durham made everyone feel most welcome. The same dynamic team of speakers spoke to the Galloway guests.
