2013 Geriatric Oncology Retreat: Cancer, Aging and Resilience

On Friday, November 15, 2013, a retreat focused on Geriatric Oncology at UNC will be held at the William and Ida Friday Center, Rosebud Room, in Chapel Hill, NC, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.

About

Cancer is a disease of aging, with age as the single most important risk factor for developing cancer.  Learn about cancer, aging and resilience from UNC experts on Friday, November 15, for the 2013 Geriatric Oncology Retreat.

Sponsored by the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, this free public symposium from 1:00 – 5:00 pm will feature talks and workshops on leading-edge research about cancer and aging as well as tools for making the most of life during and after cancer, keeping fit and active, and tips for caregivers. Faculty from the UNC Center for Aging and Health, the Geriatric Oncology Program, and the UNC Comprehensive Cancer Support Program will lead the sessions. A reception will immediately follow the program.
