UNC Cancer Network

The UNC Cancer Network (UNCCN) partners with many communities across North Carolina to enhance cancer care for all North Carolinians. The core value is to connect oncology programs, cancer hospitals, healthcare providers and patients in statewide virtual multidisciplinary tumor boards, educational programs and patient navigation support. We offer tools that will enable the ability to build comprehensive and competitive cancer programs. Our services include participation in virtual multidisciplinary tumor boards, monthly telehealth medical/surgical lectures, monthly RN/allied health lectures, monthly cancer related community lectures, in-depth analysis of your current cancer program to ensure compliance with the Commission on Cancer Patient Centered Standards, and consultations on nursing and lay navigation models of support and developing community needs assessments.

UNC researchers and clinicians are partnering with community physicians and clinics across North Carolina to move research into practice and provide citizens with the best cancer services available. These partnerships will help translate laboratory discoveries into improved care for individual patients as well as the population at large, through clinical trials, prevention, survivorship, and screening programs.

Many of the outreach programs that are part of the UNC Cancer Network are funded through the University Cancer Research Fund.
