Essential Elements of the UNC Cancer Network
The UNC Cancer Network offers tools that enable the building of comprehensive and competitive cancer programs. Our services include participation in virtual multidisciplinary tumor boards, monthly telehealth medical/surgical lectures, monthly RN/allied health lectures, monthly cancer related community lectures, in-depth analysis of your current cancer program to ensure compliance with the Commission on Cancer Patient Centered Standards, and consultations on nursing and lay navigation models of support and developing community needs assessments.
UNC researchers and clinicians are partnering with community physicians and clinics across North Carolina to move research into practice and provide citizens with the best cancer services available. These partnerships will help translate laboratory discoveries into improved care for individual patients as well as the population at large, through clinical trials, prevention, survivorship, and screening programs.
Many of the outreach programs that are part of the UNC Cancer Network are funded through the University Cancer Research Fund.
