Pink Out Polk Place for Cancer October 10th

Participants pelted with pink powder for cancer awareness

Chapel Hill, NC – UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Turn the Town Pink came to Polk Place on October 10th! The campus community and students helped us turn UNC’s most famous landmarks pink for one night only!

A special lighting ceremony at the Old Well was held at 7 p.m. and followed by a colorful fun run/walk to the pink-lit Bell Tower and back for cancer awareness.  WRAL Anchor Debra Morgan was on hand to help UNC Lineberger light up the night and get the festivities off to a great start!

Fun run participants  were pelted with pink and Carolina Blue powder (100% natural, safe and washable) as they ran through Polk Place – making this event worthy of a photo finish back at the Old Well with friends, food and fun – all to raise awareness of the world-class cancer support programs available at UNC.
