Paper limes will also be sold in participating stores - donations received from purchased limes will also benefit patients and families at the N.C. Cancer Hospital. About the Program
The “‘Corona Cares” program was initiated in 2005 by Crown Imports and local wholesalers and has since been expanded to different areas of the United States. At the N.C. Cancer Hospital, funds will support programs that benefit patients and families receiving cancer treatment.
Examples include free educational materials for patients who are just learning about their cancer, reduced-price nutritional supplementation and sessions with a cancer nutritionist for patients who have trouble eating normally during cancer treatment, and helping to purchase some of the more than 1,500 head coverings provided annually to patients who are losing their hair as a result of cancer treatment.
Special thanks to longtime UNC Lineberger supporter Long Beverage, Inc., of Raleigh, for their commitment to improving the lives of cancer patients and families by providing support for services at the N.C. Cancer Hospital, which are offered to patients free of charge.
