During the fall months of 2018, the Carolina Breast Cancer Study hosted a series of three symposia to thank our dedicated participants for their contributions to breast cancer research. While we could not so easily capture the sense of community and energy fostered by the attendees at each of these events, we do wish to share the slides presented at each symposium. This is but a small gesture of our appreciation for the time and energy each of our participants have given over the past decade. With your help, we have added to our understanding about lifestyle, treatment, and other variables that affect outcomes for those afflicted by breast cancer.

Below are the presentation slides with audio recordings from the Cary event that will better explain the information contained therein. The first video titled “CBCS: An Overview” was presented by our current PhD student, Sanah Vorha, and recent PhD graduate, Peter Samai. The second video titled “CBCS: State of the Science” was presented by Hyman Muss, MD, Mary Jones Hudson Distinguished Professor of Geriatric Oncology at the UNC School of Medicine.  We are fortunate to be part of an institution where we collaborate so closely with both seasoned and burgeoning experts who strive each day to combat breast cancer.

For those of you who attended, we were so pleased to have met you. For those of you who were unable to attend, your presence was missed, but we hope you will find these videos informative. For all, we extend our deep gratitude for making this study possible.
