William Moore is a public health practitioner with over 15 years of experience advancing health equity and access across diverse communities. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, William’s dedication to men’s health was ignited early in life while accompanying his father, Dr. Yondell Moore—Dallas’ first Black urologist—on hospital rounds. This powerful legacy inspired William’s lifelong commitment to improving health outcomes and dismantling disparities for underserved populations.
William earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Morehouse College in 2006, where he was actively involved in student organizations, including his 2004 initiation into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Following graduation, he joined Planned Parenthood Southeast as a community health educator and program coordinator, leading youth initiatives on STI education and teen pregnancy prevention.
Driven by a passion for community engagement, William pursued a Master’s in Public Health at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) with a concentration in Health Education and Promotion. At MSM, he amplified his efforts to serve marginalized populations by championing recruitment and engagement strategies focused on Black communities.
For over a decade, William led federal initiatives at ICF International, contributing to projects for agencies such as the CDC, NIH, HHS, DOJ, SAMHSA, and HUD. His expertise spans communities of practice development, virtual training facilitation, juvenile justice, child victimization prevention, and data-driven program evaluation. He is skilled in designing SOPs, administering technical assistance, and producing educational media for both virtual and in-person audiences.
Currently, William serves as the Men’s Health Project Coordinator at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he spearheads community outreach strategies to improve prostate cancer screening and access to care for Black men and medically underserved populations across North Carolina.
Outside of public health, William channels his creativity and scientific curiosity into craft beer. He is the co-founder of Down Home Brewing, Georgia’s first Black-owned and operated craft beer company. Whether developing public health initiatives or exploring the biology behind brewing, William is continually searching for the intersection between cultural impact, health education/health promotion, and serving the underserved.
