The Center for Regulatory Research on Tobacco Communication has three cores that support our research projects.

Administrative Core

Overview

This core provides the infrastructure and management necessary to coordinate the center, maximize collaboration, and facilitate collaborations with other TCORS centers. This core administers the Research Training and Education Program and the Pilot and Developmental Funding Program.

Biostatistics and Survey Methods Core

Overview

This is a service core that provides shared biostatistical, survey sampling, data collection, and statistical programming services to the Center.

The Carolina Survey Research Laboratory (CSRL) administers the phone and internet surveys, in collaboration with leaders from the three research projects. Dr. Robert Agans is the Director of CSRL.

Communication Core

Overview

This core helps achieve synergy across projects through the sharing of resources, recruitment strategies, and development of messages. It conducts formative research and collaborates in development and pre-testing of risk communication messages. The Communication Core is housed within the Communication for Health Applications and Interventions (CHAI) Core.
