Barbara Alvarez Martin, DrPH, MPH, is assistant director at UNC Lineberger for Community Outreach and Engagement and Population Sciences. She brings more than 25 years of experience leading, training and researching the effectiveness of community-based initiatives to improve public health.
Martin was director of Research Development for Cancer Prevention and Control at UNC Lineberger for five years and prior to that was project director of Health-e-NC, a statewide effort sponsored by UNC Lineberger to improve cancer outcomes in North Carolina.
