Assistant Professor Associate Medical Director for Quality Improvement in Anatomic Pathology

Research Interests

My interests are in general surgical pathology, as well as quality improvement and process design in anatomic pathology.

Clinical Service

Surgical pathology, with focus on diseases of the head and neck, cardiothoracic organs, genitourinary organs, and bone and soft tissue.

About Me

I completed my residency at UNC in anatomic and clinical pathology, and then did a fellowship at Stanford in breast pathology. Prior to joining the faculty at UNC, I practiced as a community-based general pathologist in San Luis Obispo, CA, and as a clinical instructor at Stanford where I focused on breast pathology and head and neck pathology. Since I returned to Chapel Hill in 2019, my practice has focused on head and neck pathology, cardiothoracic pathology, genitourinary pathology, and bone and soft tissue pathology. I also perform intraoperative (frozen section) consultations. In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as the associate director for quality improvement in the division of anatomic pathology. I enjoy working side by side with our residents and fellows to help them develop and hone their skills as diagnostic surgical pathologists.
