Area of Interest

I am a clinically active radiation oncologist specializing in the treatment of patients with pediatric cancers, lymphoma and breast cancer. My research interests lie in clinical trials and utilizing translational genomics and clinicopathologic characteristics to personalize therapy for patients with pediatric cancers, breast cancers and lymphomas.

I have a particular interest in distinguishing radiosensitive versus radioresistant phenotypes, with the ultimate goal of elucidating which patients may benefit from de-escalation of therapy (for the purpose of reducing late effects) versus which patients may benefit from escalation of therapy (for the purpose of enhancing long-term disease control and survival). To this end, I hope to translate novel discoveries made in the laboratory that exploit molecular vulnerabilities into well-designed clinical trials at both the institutional and national cooperative group levels.
