Daniel R. Schrider, PhD, is a UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center member whose research interests include population genetics of adaptation, genomic copy number variants and other types of mutations, and the application of machine learning tools to evolutionary questions.

Area of Interest

The Schrider Lab is interested in disentangling the evolutionary forces responsible for shaping observed patterns of genetic diversity.

We use a combination of genetic simulations, machine learnings, and empirical data to study evolutionary dynamics ranging from adaptation, migration, population size changes, and hybridization between closely related species.
