Danny T.Y. Area of Interest

Dr. Wu, PhD, MSI, FAMIA, joined the UNC School of Information and Library Science as an Associate Professor in January 2025. His research draws on human-computer interaction, applied machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, and visual analytics to maximize the value of electronic health records and further improve care delivery and quality.

Dr. Wu transitioned from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he was an Associate Professor of Research and Director of Informatics Experiences of the Medical Sciences Baccalaureate Program for eight years. Dr. Wu received both his PhD and master’s degrees from the University of Michigan School of Information. He was inducted as a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA) in 2021.
