Darlene Leysath is an accomplished business woman with vast experience. She is a highly successful motivational speaker and co-founder of The Cornerstone Community Development Corporation and former Talk Show Hostess/WEGG Radio 710 AM and 100.5 FM. Ms. Leysath is dedicated and determined to make a difference in the lives of others locally and on a national level in disaster recovery management.
Ms. Leysath is a subject matter expert in mental health, disaster case management/relief, grant writing, and community engagement. She has spent the last twenty years building partnerships and coalitions to meet the needs of Duplin and surrounding counties. She has a diverse background with over 36 years in clinical social work as a therapist, the Director of Partial Hospital Day Program, a program manager, Mental Health Care Crisis Consultant, Administrator of long-term care facility for the aged, special education educator, bereavement and volunteer coordinator, oral health advocate, and Disaster Relief Director and Disaster Case Management. In addition, she assists to meet the needs of veterans and their families, disaster hurricane survivors, seniors and individuals with disabilities.
