Area of Interest

We are studying the molecular mechanisms that are involved in the induction and patterning of early vertebrate embryo. To begin to identify the molecular pathways involved in early development, we are examining the endogenous role of genes initially identified based on their implication in human disease. Please add: The work in our lab is focused on identifying the molecular networks that are essential for early heart development and how sex difference in these networks lead to sex disparities in heart disease. For these studies, we use a highly integrated approach that incorporates developmental, genetic, proteomic, biochemical and molecular based studies in mouse and stem cells.
