I am the Director of the UNC Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) HIV/STD Laboratory Core. Our Core offers services and collaborations to HIV/STD/other infectious disease researchers for their basic and clinical research projects. The Core provides a GCLP environment for specimen processing and testing. The HIV/STD Laboratory Core consults and collaborates with researchers at UNC-Chapel Hill, RTI International, and FHI 360 (as well as outside researchers). Our services include specimen processing/storage/shipping for clinical studies, flow cytometry, biomarker quantitation, access to instrumentation and BSL2+ space, antiretroviral assays, and PSA testing as a marker of sexual activity.
